「キリストとは，救い主という意味です。
キリストの降誕は，はるかな昔から預言されていました。
紀元前730年頃，旧約聖書の預言者イザヤはこのように記しています。『見よ，おとめがみごもって男の子を産む。……
ひとりのみどりごがわれわれのために生まれた。
ひとりの男の子がわれわれに与えられた。』
キリスト教の信仰とは，イエスがキリストである，すなわち自分自身の救い主であると受け入れるところから始まります。
救い主として，人に，喜びと平安を与えるイエスその人こそ，神から人類に与えられた最大の贈り物であると，わたしたちキリスト教徒は信じています。クリスマスに贈り物をするのはその象徴です。」

' 'For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.' (Isaiah 9:6) These are the words the Old Testament prophet Isaiah in approximately 730 BC as he prophesied about the birth of Christ.
The word 'Christ' means 'Savior'.
Jesus is the Christ. In other words, faith in Jesus Christ begins when one accepts Christ as one's own personal Savior.
As Christians, we believe that Jesus ~who Himself bestows joy and peace upon people~ is the greatest gift that God gave to mankind. The tradition of giving presents at Christmas comes from this belief.'
