CHURCH HISTORY AREA MANAGER (ASIA NORTH AREA)

The Church History Area Manager assists the Church History Department in its purpose to help God's children make and keep sacred covenants by managing all efforts to collect, preserve, and share Church history throughout the Asia North Areas.

Job Description:

  • Identify key people, places, events, and developments related to the Church in the Asia North Area.

  • Lead efforts to collect and preserve historically significant records (e.g., oral histories, photographs, journals, etc.).

  • Train and direct a network of volunteers to carry out Church History Department priorities & initiatives.

  • Provide information and support to Area Presidency and Area Office staff, contribute to area initiatives, develop plans and budgets, and actively participate in area committees.

  • Consult with Area Office personnel and other headquarters departments to share Church history through websites, publications, exhibits, historical markers, and anniversary events.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree OR equivalent experience in business management, history, library and archival studies, anthropology, religious studies, or other related fields.

  • 8-10 years of professional experience managing people and working cross-functionally with demonstrated abilities to teach, motivate, and mentor a volunteer workforce. Transnational experience desired.

  • Ability to thrive in collaborative situations, resolve difficult issues in a professional manner, perceive and analyze situations accurately, and meet objectives under strict deadlines.

  • Proven high-level interpersonal skills with the ability to engage appropriately with senior-level ecclesiastical and professional leaders.

  • Knowledge of Church history in the Asia and Asia North Areas and a broad understanding of general Church history, including proven research skills.

  • Strong oral & written communication skills in English. Knowledge of the languages spoken in the area is desired.

LMS Coordinator / Welfare Self-Reliance Mgr

Responsibilities ( Leader and Member Support Coordinator ):

  • Responsible for training leaders regarding essential temporal affairs services and resolving their needs in a timely and thorough manner.

  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to improve service levels in a simple and affordable way, and coordinating with functional managers to implement change.

  • May be responsible for legal representation within a country, government relations, and some functional responsibilities.

Responsibilities ( Welfare and Self-Reliance Manager ):

  • Responsible for assisting priesthood leaders in implementing/maintaining the welfare & self-reliance initiative in their stake. Consult with and receive direction from the stake president on welfare & self-reliance goals and objectives and needs.

  • Assist Area Humanitarian Specialist as project manager of humanitarian projects by planning, executing, and evaluating humanitarian projects. Assist Area Education Specialists by coordinating English and Pathway Connect in the country. Assist in Family Servicescoordination in the country.

Qualifications:

  • Current temple recommend.

  • Relevant bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of robust and proven work experience in relationship management or customer service.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to conduct and analyze customer satisfaction research.

  • A knowledge of Church organization and how to effectively work with different departments, divisions, and other stakeholders both in the area and at Church headquarters would be helpful.

  • Experience with CRM.

  • Ability to speak and write in English.
