Area Local Unit Manager

Finance and Record Department, Asia North Area

Responsibilities:
  • Leads all local unit finance and record-keeping matters in the Area office and service centers

  • Refines local unit finance and record-keeping processes; provides training for local unit leaders and clerks

  • Leads business solutions or process improvement projects related to local unit needs

  • Assures that all core record-keeping processes established and defined by Church headquarters are being fulfilled according to metrics and objectives

  • Assists with finance and membership audits and resolution processes

  • Provides and presents area-specific statistical analysis, trend analysis, and reporting to the Area Presidency, Director for Temporal Affairs, and controller

  • Assists Area Presidency and local leaders to prepare unit organization applications

  • Oversees the collaboration and development of instructional materials

  • Identifies area-specific opportunities for member location and establishes finding processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or other related discipline; higher degree and/or certifications (including CPA, CMA, and/or MBA) are preferred

  • Minimum of eight years professional managerial/supervisory experience in record-keeping, financial accounting, and auditing

  • Thorough knowledge of the Church’s General Handbook

  • Demonstrates a significant and in-depth experience and understanding with Church governance, policy, and doctrine

  • Extensive knowledge of church financial/local unit record-keeping policies, processes, and tools

  • Excellent analytical, planning, and presentation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Job type: Full-time

  • Location: Tokyo, Seoul, Ulaanbaatar, Guam

  • Salary: Based on Church Policies and procedures
